He began in the financial services industry in 1990 and went on to founder Sowell Management in 1995—an early pioneer in the independent, fee-only advisory space.

Over the years, Bill has helped build a platform that supports advisors across the country, always centered on doing what’s right for clients and creating lasting relationships. Cache River Private Wealth reflects that same vision, offering a more refined approach for advisors serving high-net-worth clients with increasingly complex needs.

Known as a bridge builder, Bill has a natural ability to connect people, ideas, and opportunities in a way that creates clarity and momentum. Outside of his work, he enjoys time on the golf course, on the water, and in the field—bringing the same steady, grounded perspective that defines how he works with advisors and the families they serve.

Carrie Quraishi, Director of Advanced Planning

Carrie Quraishi helps affluent families navigate the complex planning decisions that often accompany significant wealth. As Director of Advanced Planning for Cache River Private Wealth and the Advanced Planning Group (APG), she works closely with families, business owners, and advisors to develop coordinated strategies involving estate planning, wealth transfer, asset protection, and business succession.

With more than 15 years of experience spanning both law and wealth management, Carrie brings a unique perspective to conversations involving family legacy, generational wealth, and long-term stewardship. Her background includes serving clients through both legal and financial planning engagements, helping families address the increasingly interconnected decisions that come with wealth.

A graduate of Arkansas State University (B.A. Finance, cum laude) and Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, Carrie has advised families throughout Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas. Her expertise includes estate and gift tax planning, trust and wealth transfer strategies, business succession planning, and asset protection design.

At Cache River, Carrie works collaboratively with clients and their trusted advisors to help simplify complexity and support meaningful outcomes across generations. Her approach is rooted in the belief that wealth is most impactful when it is aligned with a family’s values, goals, and vision for the future.

JR Quraishi, Director of Tax Planning

JR Quraishi helps affluent families and business owners understand how thoughtful tax planning can support broader wealth, legacy, and stewardship objectives. As Director of Tax Planning for Cache River Private Wealth and the Advanced Planning Group (APG), he focuses on identifying opportunities that help families preserve wealth, improve tax efficiency, and make more informed long-term decisions.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas (B.S. Accounting) and the University of Illinois (Master of Accountancy with an emphasis in Taxation), JR combines technical tax expertise with a practical understanding of how taxes influence broader financial decisions.

JR specializes in strategic tax planning, business entity structures, retirement income strategies, charitable planning, and multi-year tax forecasting. His approach is proactive and forward-looking, helping clients evaluate today’s decisions through the lens of future opportunities and outcomes.

At Cache River, JR works closely with families and advisors to integrate tax planning into a broader wealth strategy designed to support both current and future generations. He believes that some of the most valuable planning opportunities are identified long before they appear on a tax return.

When he’s not running tax projections, JR can usually be found behind the wheel hauling the family’s horses to the next show or scouting the best Nashville hot chicken and Texas BBQ along the way. When there’s downtime, he’s cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers — and whoever happens to be playing the Dallas Cowboys.  He and Carrie have two children — Cade and Catherine — and the family is based in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
